Located between Heretaunga and Trentham, on the corner of Fergusson Drive and Sutherland Ave, Children First Early Childhood Centre is a teacher (kaiako) and child (tamariki) led centre with a strong focus on learning through play.
About Us
Infants and Toddlers
Our Infants and Toddlers space caters for tamariki up to 2.5 years of age. It has a spacious self-contained play room, an outdoor space with sandpit and sunshades, a sleep-room and a kitchenette. The devoted kaiako have created a fantastic, challenging environment with many different areas for the tamariki to explore, question, experiment and learn.
Preschool
Our Preschool caters for tamariki 2 – 5 years of age. The kaiako have created an environment in which the tamariki can explore at their own pace and in their own time. This empowers them to be able to set goals or answer questions about the world around them, by exploring learning opportunities that interest them and develop on the knowledge they already hold.
Meet Our Kaiako
The dedicated kaiako at Children First are what makes our centre the place that it is. All of the kaiako undergo regular police checks and complete a child protection training course. We follow Ministry of Education guidelines around adult-to-child ratios.
