Pukeko Ruma

For tamariki aged 2.5 - 5 years

Two young children, a boy and girl, stand indoors near a white cabinet and chair, with various items in the background.

Pukeko Ruma is a vibrant, engaging learning environment where the tamariki are encouraged to explore, create and grow in confidence. It is a space where the children are valued, their interests are followed, and their independence is celebrated.

The tamariki have the opportunity to move through our thoughtfully designed spaces, including outdoor play areas, a covered deck for all-weather exploration, an art zone for developing creativity, quiet reading and relaxation areas, and a cosy sleep room when rest is needed.

Our learning programme supports thinking, questioning and problem solving, creating learning experiences that are meaningful and exciting. We also place a strong focus on social skills, communication and emotional development, helping tamariki build friendships, express themselves confidently and develop a strong sense of belonging.

As the amariki grow closer to school age, our curriculum supports them to develop the skills they will need going forward. Independence, resilience and confidence are all encouraged, while still honouring play as the heart of learning.

Each day, tamariki enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch, along with healthy morning and afternoon teas, o support their growing bodies and busy minds.
